Tots Bots Bamboozle size 1 on a newborn?

Postby rachymoo » Wed Feb 16, 2011 9:11 pm

Anyone had any of these in their newborn stash? I've never tried them before (always used Little Lamb bamboos on my DD, which I think are pretty similar) but I managed to get a bargain on eBay so now have 6! They've arrived today and are in fab condition (in fact they seem new), one thing I hadn't realised before though is that, unlike LLs, you can't cross over the aplix tabs? I'm just thinking, will this not mean that they will be too big on a NB?

I'm wondering whether I can just nippa them if they're a bit big (even though they're not proper 'nippa nappies')? Or will I need to wait until baby is a bit bigger before I use them?

Can you tell I've never used cloth on a newborn :giggle:

Rach xx

ETA: Meant to say, they are the old style Bamboozle - not the new 'Stretchy' version.

These were the first nappies I used on Lockie and he probably only would have been 6 or so lbs. I didn't have any issues. I remember them looking massive on him though!

Just to say he wasn't a newborn so not sure if they would be ok with the umbilical stump.

I used the on J when he was around 7 and a half pound.
I used with little lamb size one wrap and I did cross the tabs over and nippa to start with.
They give him a huge bum though so mainly just you round the house x

We used them on Rowan from about 8lbs and they worked fine although did give her a big bum compared to Diddy Diapers, Bambeasies etc. They did last much longer than our other newborn nappies though and I ended up buying a few extra ones too!

I'm using them on Scarlett with no problems, I don't mind the bulkyness at all :)

i'm using old style bamboozles on clara, size 2's that are too big so i'm nippa'ing. you do have to press the nippa in a little and make sure it grabs properly as the fabric isn't brilliant for nippas, but it does work fine. i occasionally find one part of the nippa undone when i come to change her but the wrap helps keep it all in place.

can't comment on the suitability for a nb though.

we nippa'd our tots bots aplix nappies on DS1 ages.
he was on 5lb 13oz born, we started cloth nappies with him at 6weeks (had probs with BF- so put cloth to one side while I got the bf going!)
using a nippa on our aplix nappies was the only way my skinny little boy was going to fit in them properly.
