What is this nappy?

Postby usinukveg » Fri Mar 04, 2011 7:35 pm

got this nappy off of freecycle, i've never seen anything like it! does anyone know what it is? it's made of cotton, althougj not terry...it's super thin but very wide between the legs so i just pile a couple of boosters or an insert to actually absorb the wee.

any ideas? i know the picture is rubbish!

Could it be a Kushies?

Hm...doesn't look like a Kushies (not as wide) or an Imse Vimse to me. Perhaps it's a WAHM made nappy?

I went to the Kushies and Imse websites, but of course they only have their new nappies up, and this one has clearly seen some mileage. I think I may be too curious for my own good!!

another strange thing that came in the pack was a half-used roll of something that looked like kitchen roll?

Oh yeah, and a rainbow-thread overlocked, fold-out nappy from a now defunct nappy company. It was sort of a treasure trove of interesting nappy products

i've got ancient imse-vimse things (but label says imse-blojan i think)... they look similarish but mine don't have elastic, and the 'wing' bits are wider on mine. that may well be a newer version of one, but i'd expect it to have labels on it.... mine have been through at least 7 children that we know of, but the labels are still very clear.

i'd put my money on a wahm made one i think.

I'm pretty sure it is a BabyLove which are no longer made. They are made from flannelette (although that would look like you wouldn't be able to tell anymore :giggle: ). I had one for Louis which someone gave me which had some little dogs or something on it. They did a spotty version which was cute just before they stopped them altogether!

We had one of those as well, Steph loved them and I've got a total mind blank as to what they are called :giggle:

I just got another bag of nappies off freecycle, and the mystery nappy's tag wasn't too faded to read....drumroll....disana! I just went to their website, and the nappies still look the same! I'm not sure how the company has stayed in business as the nappy really doesn't absorb any wee at all, but whatever.

I also got another one of those rainbow fold out ones. It's called nappy nation...and it's massive! I'm not sure where the baby fits, there are so many layers of really fluffy toweling. Nothing our hard water won't crunchify in two washings though.
