Fitteds and ECing?

Postby Mungo » Fri Jul 22, 2011 4:22 pm

I've started ECing with my DS and want to try him in fitteds with no cover around the house so I can tell when he's weed but not have puddles on the floor.

Anyone else doing this? Is there a particular type that's good for ECing or will any do?

Not sure what you are asking but there are plenty that use fitteds around the house without covers. I asked this recently HERE. I have no experience with ECing though (kicks self!!)

Thanks for the link :-D

Sorry, my question wasn't very clear... Just wondering what to go for in terms of helping with EC - something without a stay dry inner so he experiences wetness? Something less absorbent so I can easily tell when he's weed? Something easy to get on and off when I sit him on the potty?

Would love to hear from any other ECers who use fitteds

obv isn't stay dry, so any inner like that would work. alternatively try laying a piece of cotton fabric inside the nappy which will get wet and feel wet when he goes. in terms of absorbency you can take the boosters out of most fitted nappies so that would make them less absorbant.

you can also get cloth training pants, I'm not sure how old your LO is but they might be worth looking into? good luck! there are a few ladies on here who did EC - you might want to have a look in the potty training forum to see if there are any other threads about it which might be useful.

We're ECing our 2nd baby and I tend to use Dunk'n'Fluff's, Gurilla Fluff's and Fluff & Stuff's, all of which have OBV inners as a PP mentioned :)

TBH though at home more often than not I keep DD2 nappiless through the day so I know when she starts to wee and can get her to the toilet. I just put a large towel on the floor where she is lay or sat and find it easier to read her cues this way than when she is wearing a nappy. I always did the same with DD1 too ;)

Oh no!! I have 3 dogs and they're all a bit gross... Plus a mobile baby and newish carpet, so think I'll try the fitteds first!

Thanks ladies that's all really helpful... Plus an excuse to buy lovely DnF!!
