Weenotions Northern Lights - help please :)

Postby pinksalmon2001 » Mon Nov 07, 2011 10:26 am

I want to order some of these in small and medium for the baby as I have heard good things about the new style/shape but not sure what to go for inner/outer wise. Most of Tyler's fitteds are OBV with the occasional knit print. Weenotions don't have a great range of OBV though and I wanted to get some embroidery on a couple but not sure whether they will be as absorbant/effective if I have either cuddlesoft or minkee (which they have a great range of) as an outer - has anyone tried them with either of those as an outer?

Thanks

I used to have cuddlesoft/minkee outers for N and they were fine :D

All of mine have a minkee outer and 4 layer minkee topped soaker and they all work brilliantly. I would go for a bamboo terry over OBV inner though as its more absorbent. I really love ours and as soon as more of my newborn and small nappies sell I will be ordering more :D

I always go for minkee outer WNNL/NN, I normally then go for fleece topped 6 layer inserts but with OBV lining to the nappy.

I have minkee and cuddlesoft and have had no problems I have both OBV and bamboo toweling inner's all I'd say is you either need to get the 6 layer insert of if baby is a heavy wetter boost them with the OBV a it's no where near as absorbent as the original (feels nice though :) )Also with the smalls I found my DD was out of them at about 5 weeks. She is just in large now at 23 weeks they are. Little bug but I didn't want to jeep re buying :giggle:

Ive just tried minkee outer wnn for the first time after always using bv and knit and they work just aswell :) i think i actually prefer them as they don't seem to rub like the others do sometimes

Best combo, IMO is: minkee/cuddlesoft outer, bamboo towelling inner and a BV or minkee/cuddlesoft topped pop-in booster
I've got a couple of BV lined NL and they're just not as absorbant as the towelling :( (though yes, they do feel lovely :giggle: )
The minkee outer, with its stay-dry feel tends to make the nappy feel less wet on the outside, which I prefere to when using with wool.
