Personally I wouldn't bother with cord snaps again. Mia's cord was only on a couple of days so they really weren't needed. As for whether to get small or newborn it depends how big your babies are. Mia was 6lb 13 so smalls swamped her for the first 3/4 weeks. If you're expecting an 8 or 9lb baby then its probably better to stick with smalls.

I have a stack of size 1 and nb nappies now so if I ask anyone they have to refuse me any more OK!? I have 10 size 1 bamboozles (the old style) about 5 cotton diddy daipers, 3 bimbles, 3 newborn owws- these have snap downs, 4 small owws and a few others like a med mutt (it looks proper tiny though) a nb hl and some more. Penny wasn't in nappies until about 3 weeks though so no experience of using them on a cord. Hoping to put this one in cloth from the start but going to use wool most of the time so not sure how that will work. I have a lot of wraps too  way too many really.

We used teenyfits, tots bots nippa nappies & bg aio xs once Eleanor was big enough to fit them. All needed boosting for her Olympic standard widdling but little lamb bamboo boosters were great.
I have teeny babies (5lb 13 & 4lb 11, both at term) so xxxxs nappies are essential for us!

I never used cloth from the start last time but i will be this time. I have about 35 nappies and 6 soakers (wool, no wraps though may get a couple still undecided).
I have little lambs, bambeasies, dunk n fluff, LLS, monkey snuggles, swaddlebees, loobylu's, little gumnut, weenotions, OWW and muttaquin in my stash. Some have the umbilical snaps but not all.

Another one who will rave about teenyfits. They covered his cord but I never had any issue. Also xs oww. That's all I used for the first couple months xx

I'm so looking forward to using the teenyfits. I love the easyfits for the Mouse, but teenyfits came out when she was to big for them.

I'm going to get some size 1 stretchies, which go from 6-18 lbs, I think I'll get 10 or so. I also want to get some nbs, I like the look of Bugga Bugga Basics, and they have cord snaps. If you order 6 you get free shipping, and 6 would probably do us. They fit 6-14 lbs.

Then I'll get some size 2 stretchies, some Loops from Orange Diper Co, and I'm sending Amber some fabric to have some smalls made.

I limited as to which nappies to go for, as I have to get nappies that are totally plain on the outside, or J thinks that they don't need wraps, but luckily I sort of think that pretty fitteds are a bit wasted under wraps anyway!

We used cloth from about day 5 with DD but I plan to use from birth this time. Hadn't really thought about the cord, but I have gone for quite a few kissaluvs which all have the snapdown front,
although they look tiny (DD was 8lb 1oz born at 37 weeks) so I'm not convinced they'll last more than a week tbh! I also have some little lambs (cheap and cheerful stash builders) and a few OWW although again I suspect the XS will be too small. I have ordered some DnF smalls and mediums, last time DD was in larges from about 6 months so I'm not sure how much use I'll get from them. I remember changing DD 10 plus times a day initially as she pooed after every feed, so I'm reckoning I need about 30 to allow for washing/drying time (we don't have a tumble dryer). Although at least it will be summer so hopefully I'll be able to wash and dry the same day. I have a bunch of preloved prefolds for my emergency nappies and nappy off time, they were dirt cheap so I figured it couldn't hurt! Wraps wise I'm not sure, I think I have about 6 or 7 at the moment, some wool and some pul.

Scarlett had 19 and all were snap/fold down to avoid her cord - wraps she had 3 and i used to put them over her cord) We didnt have any rubbing problems.

When i do it again i will be aiming for more like 25 nappies as 19 were a bit of a squeeze to get washed & dried. I washed everyday and some days she went through 16 so it was a tight turn around, i would prefer a little more leeway.

Oh.. we had Swaddlebees and TotsBots mostly (yeah, 4yrs ago it wasnt all fancy OWW, HL and the like lol) this time im planning a core stash of cheaper ones like Tots again if i can find some as they were great at growing with her for the first 6months, sandies and some fancy ones too.
