@docmaggoo I notice LL do OSFA pockets and sized pockets. The ones I use are the sized ones with the trifold jersey bamboo insert which sounds a but different from the insert you describe. The trifold ones stay lovely and soft and whilst we do need to boost them they are a great start and to be honest I have not yet found a pocket that we can use without boosting.
The gusset suits us and the are a high rise nappy so they also suit us for that reason. I totally agree, what suits one baby does not always work for another. The wraps I used for DS1 were and still are totally ridiculous in DS2!
