Pea burnt her hand on a lightbulb this morning and after running under cold water and holding in a bowl of iced water a big blister has appeared we have been putting germolene on it as it has a mild aneasthetic in but is there anything better? It is on the pad of her hand just under the joint of her finger so very hard to dress.
What can I put on it to help? Poor chick keeps saying how much it hurts

Isn t sudocrem good for burns too? I m not sure about blister though I m afraid.

Don't burst the blister (although in that postion it may happen anyway).

I have used sudocrem on burns I get when cooking / ironing but I'm not sure if you are 'supposed' to. Perhaps Aloe vera night help?

There's a brilliant gel treatment you can buy in chemists that helps a lot. Can't remember the name right now, but its in a blue tube, think it starts with an A... Acriflex maybe?

I keep some handy in the kitchen cos I scald my hand quite often and it always helps.

Thanks folks. We put aloe on when she did it and a drop of lavender oil too. I will go to the chemist tomorrow to get some of twinkletoes' magic cream;)
To top it offshre has developed a stinker of a cold today dosed with nurofen and refused dinner but hope she will get some sleep though. Poor lovey

For tonight if she wakes and complains about it again put some natural yogurt on it and cover it losely with a bandage or gauze pad. Just leave it to dry and wash it off when she wakes again. It really does help cool and it takes the pain away. I have no idea why or how it helps but it really does taught to me by a very wise old keralan woman who also gave me her saltfish curry recipe (which was minging )

Sorry to hear that! I would recommend sudocrem for the burns...

My dd is a pharmacist and she says don't put anything on it, just keep it clean and dry.

ETA sorry I didn't realise this was an old post. I expect it's all better now anyway
