Pea burnt her hand on a lightbulb this morning and after running under cold water and holding in a bowl of iced water a big blister has appeared :( we have been putting germolene on it as it has a mild aneasthetic in but is there anything better? It is on the pad of her hand just under the joint of her finger so very hard to dress.
What can I put on it to help? Poor chick keeps saying how much it hurts

Poor girl

Don't burst the blister (although in that postion it may happen anyway).

I have used sudocrem on burns I get when cooking / ironing but I'm not sure if you are 'supposed' to. Perhaps Aloe vera night help?

There's a brilliant gel treatment you can buy in chemists that helps a lot. Can't remember the name right now, but its in a blue tube, think it starts with an A... Acriflex maybe?

I keep some handy in the kitchen cos I scald my hand quite often and it always helps.

For tonight if she wakes and complains about it again put some natural yogurt on it and cover it losely with a bandage or gauze pad. Just leave it to dry and wash it off when she wakes again. It really does help cool and it takes the pain away. I have no idea why or how it helps but it really does  taught to me by a very wise old keralan woman who also gave me her saltfish curry recipe (which was minging :hohoho: )

You shouldn't put anything on burns really as it can increase the risk of infection-really just keep it clean and dry. http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Burns-and-Scalds.htm

My dd is a pharmacist and she says don't put anything on it, just keep it clean and dry.

ETA sorry I didn't realise this was an old post. I expect it's all better now anyway :)
