CSP Learning Curve!

Day 2 of testing! (Day 1 is here if you missed it!)

Last night I couldn't remember where I had put the Hollow Oak pad and was very tired so ended up putting the largest Go with the Flo one on. I really like this pad, so soft and comfy and you can feel that there are lots of layers for absorption yet it isn't thick. I think the trick is that the actual pad bit is is separate and sewn onto the very thin fleece backing / bottom so what wraps around your knickers is very thin. Anyway I was woken by a moving around hubby about 4.30am and thought I better go and check what was going on. Turns out that I hadn't placed the pad far enough back and I had had some leaking BUT this was my fault not the pads! This is a real learning curve for me because whilst I have used cloth pads in the past I've not used them on their own other than as panty liners at either end of my cycle or as back up to my Mooncup. I'll be sure to check tonight that I've not got the pad too far forward. There was still plenty of absorption left in the Go with the Flo pad so I readjusted it and waited until a more 'normal' time of the morning. Today is a pretty heavy day and by the time I changed it later in the morning it was very full and not a sign of a leak. I'm loving Go with the Flo pads!

I then popped on an old pad of mine as I thought I'd be jumping in the shower after the school run. Next pad off the rank was the red medium sized Pleasure Puss pad. This is topped with a polyester stay dry material (I'll check the name). The fit of this pad was nice and I like that there are 2 positions on the poppers so you can get a good fit regardless of what knickers you are wearing. I'm not convinced, however, about the top material. I only had it on for a couple of hours and I got leaks. It looked to me like it was wicking the moisture across the material and down the wings and from there onto the cotton backing material and onto my knickers, somehow not allowing it to actually enter the core material of the pad. This theory seems like it may be right because when I rinsed it in cold water there was very little to rinse out and the inner seemed really dry (well before I wet it obviously :giggle: ). Finally got my shower after the school pick up run and am trying out the Pleasure Puss large / night pad. Again it has the 2 popper system so that you can choose the width between your legs. This one is topped with cotton flannelette which has gone lovely and soft after washing and I imagine it will continue to do so over time and end up like soft flannie pj's! I'll let you know how I get on with it!

Plan is for tonight to try the Hollow Oak night pad, it flares at the back so I'm imagining it will provide excellent protection.
