First time using hemp

But I thought that bamboo and hemp were more absorbent than MF?

Totally confused!

They are more absorbent but a booster is not designed to be used on its own or with just another booster...its literally for boosting a nappy that already has inserts in.
For eg when I was using Flip nappies I used the Organic Cotton INSERT and added a hemp and bamboo BOOSTER in the middle, this meant the nappy lasted 3 hours. On their own the hemp and bamboo boosters wouldnt have managed even one pee.
If you have BGs, use the larger microfibre insert and both the bamboo and hemp boosters underneath, all inside the pocket. I have a BG sat in the corner downstairs, would you like me to take some pictures for you?

You can get inserts in bamboo & hemp too (like the pd bamboo in the video) to replace your microfibre but that's an option for later on if you are not happy with the microfibre & booster combo

We couldn't get on with microfibre at all so used petit dessous bamboo insert folded in half with an easy peasy hemp insert underneath

I just took delivery of a WNOS, which didn't come with inserts. Will I need to buy inserts separately and if so, which kind should I buy? I have the bamboo and hemp boosters and I also have some fleece topped boosters in an hour glass shape. I'm not sure what kind of fabric is on the other side of the fleece. It could be terry or bamboo. It looks like terry to me, but I'm pretty useless! Anyway, I'm thinking now that what I have won't be enough...?
