Chutney as a gift?

I found a nice recipe here for a Christmas spiced chutney. I'm thinking of making it as part of a food hamper for the IL's but I've never made chutney before. What do you think? Is it something you would like to receive in a home made food hamper?

I'm not a chutney fan but I think there are lots of people who would love to recieve some in a hamper, especially home-made

I've never really eaten a lot of chutneys but I saw a recipe for a red onion chutney in this months Tesco mag and it really appealed to me when it mentioned it went well with cheese and crackers.

That recipe looks lovely too so I say go for it

We love chutneys here too and I actually plan on making a couple for DH for his xmas hamper from me! He is a nightmare to buy for then when I spotted Nichola's (Soupdragon) thread about homemade mango chutney the other day it inspired me to make hubby a big hamper full of things I know he will like

ETA. I saw some jars in the Range the other day so if you have one near by it may be worth taking a look

I aways add chutney to my food hampers/baskets at Christmas. There are so many recipes, you can usually find one that most people will like.

I love HM churtneys so I would be thrilled to get something like that!
