Keeping chickens?

@mamavan2 what is yoru chicken coop like? Can I have a pic? @Allie do you still have a chicken house and chooks? I seem to remember you had a cute one? @autumnalgirl what is your hen house?

It's still nog completly finishd but I can take a picture tomorrow.
They have started laying eggs!

I'll get a pic tomorrow too. Ours was cheapish off of ebay and then Ben built an extension for the run for when we need to keep them in.

@clothmama we no longer have our chickens but are hoping to get some more soon. Sorry for the short reply. I've only recently come out of hospital following emergency surgery last week so not feeling very well.

When I'm feeling better I'll try and dig out some pics of our old set up and new one when it's built.

When we bought it we only had 5 chickens. Now we haven 11, we decided to cover all the wire and make it to one big night shed. There are tiles under the whole coop to prevent animals digging under it. They use the little night shed that's in the coop fot laying eggs.

I'm getting obsessed looking at chickens - I think I'll get 2 of the red laying hens and 2 sussex (white with black bits around the neck) then 2 white silkies (fluffy ones) later if we are loving having chooks!

We have a white Sussex amongst ours and she's a lovely hen, now the biggest of our little flock but very friendly.

@autumnalgirl how many chickens do you have? I do like the Sussex, they look lovely!

@clothmama we just have a little flock of four. The white Sussex and the speckled Moran in the picture. We also have a copper Moran and a little brown hen!
